Jallim Eudovic – Kaiso
November 14, 2016 - November 27, 2017
Kaiso is a musical tradition that originated in West Africa but became known as Calypso music in Trinidad and in much of the English Caribbean. Today Kaiso is the most contemporary description of what the world has come to celebrate as Calypso Music. Kaiso is in many ways a form of storytelling through music.
This exhibition, curated by Ludlow Bailey, is a story about the sculptural language and the socio-political interests and perspectives of St. Lucian, artist, Jallim Eudovic.
His works speak about his passionate interest in Caribbean history, philosophy, poetry, literature, music, theatre, global politics, the wisdom of the Caribbean people and the post-colonial issues emerging from some of the world’s youngest nation states.
Zari Gallery is pleased to host Kaiso, Jallim Eudovic’s solo exhibition in London.
